The top 10 unique virtual tour features for Education providers

Virtual tours

The marketing benefits of virtual tours for schools, colleges & Universities are well established – longer times on site, better engagement, increased levels of enquiry are all statistically proven.

Our team of education specialists have taken this to the next level over the last 6 months.  We have worked with some of the country’s leading education providers to create a set of unique features that address specific issues around open days, student contact, marketing and engagement.

Check out a 10 of our most popular features below (and there are more!)

1. Content management system

Our unique Content Management System provides more options to edit, manage and change content than any other CMS on the market.

You can add unlimited hotspots, photo galleries, videos and more from any web browser which means you can keep your tour content relevant, seasonal and up to date. By giving you the tools to update your virtual tour yourself,  you reduce ongoing costs and ensure your tour achieves its potential.

2. Drone Aerial Photography

Aerial shots of educational facilities are an excellent feature for users and give them an immediate understanding of the location and surroundings.

These images inspire potential clients.  Our unique offering incorporates video, hd photos and 360 image capture into one process to provide outstanding return on investment.

3. Accessibility is key

You may already have a virtual tour but is it compliant to WCAG 2.1 government guidelines?

We are proud to be launching the industry-first accessibility widget on our virtual tours,  setting the standard for 360 technology.

4. Presenter videos

It’s simple to add presenter videos with our CMS. These display in a similar way to a sign language interpreter on tv and with green screen technology, the presenter appears immersed in the 360 environment.

A video can introduce context and content to a scene, it adds personality and enriches the entire experience.

5. Host effective open events online

As traditional open events become increasingly difficult, we have worked with dozens of partners to deliver viable and effective alternatives online.  Using established platforms such as Microsoft teams, Zoom and more we help you develop a strategy to connect with your audience in the most appropriate and effective way possible.

For many clients, these approaches are now part of their long-term strategy through COVID and beyond.

6. Create course specific virtual tours

With our feature-full Content Management System, you have the ability to create a unique tour which runs through a sequence of relevant panoramas, a guided tour.

7. Conduct live 360 training sessions

Use a webcam to embed yourself into the 360 panoramas for a live 2-way presentation. Share controls of the tour and track and view what they are looking at, or take control and direct them to a particular viewpoint. Bring web chats to life with this unique feature.

8. Assign roles to individual and departments

You can assign departments to manage interactive content on targetted panoramas, for example –  the Geography department looks after Geography scenes etc. This feature empowers departments to take ownership and speeds up the build process and management.

9. Sell the location

Inspiring potential students is about far more than the campus.  We can integrate multiple locations and area hotspots into your tour.  Highlight key selling points from the region around your campus.

You can see an example of this on the Plymouth College of Art’s virtual tour we built earlier this year. Click the button below to view.

10. Micro tours

With our micro tour feature, you are able to extract individual scenes from the main tour, for example – display the gym scene only on the sports page. This unique functionality ensures maximum impact across the site. Menus can be hidden or displayed allowing you to focus users on the areas of interest.
